Don't go down to the woods today or your in for a big surprise!
I know i'd had a pint, but it looks good to me..xx
All the images are from the trees of bodran mountain, or well within walking distance!

Three small photos , showing how survival is possible as long at least a part of the tree is rooted strongly and in good soil...
This yew tree is the oldest living thing in Wales it's between 4/5000 yrs old the mind boggles at what it's witnessed.it's situated in st digains llangernyw 5 miles from bodran, again it was to big for me to do it justice.
I know it's not a tree, and not a very good photo. But heather is another plant associated with Bee's , honey and wisdom.. The heather provides an enthusiastic passionate energy, with never a gap between thought , speech, and action This reflects a loyalty to ones true self and is the key to heathers energy. It will help you find a generosity of spirit which will help them be aware of other peoples problems and needs.
This is our boundary Beech, it's about 3 hugs around at the bottom, it reminds me of a creature from greek mytholodgy..I use the beech mast in christmas pot pourri.
The elder is a tree of regeneration, growing easily from all parts..The tree has a wise old woman energy. The elder provides the wisdom to deal with changes and help you to see them as transformation and renewel..i have always found the elder to be a very approachable tree, used to a long history of humankind useing all it's gifts of bark, leaves and flowers and fruit for medicines.....The wood is yellow and as a soft pith running through the centre this can be cleaned out and beads made out of the smoothed wood..
The Gorse or furze bush flowers almost continuously providing rich rewards for the gathering bees..Honey is linked to wisdom in celtic legend.
This is a wild and enchanted tree, under the protection of the faerie realms and the old magic, and as such should be greatly respected..A talisman made of hawthorn will enhance you ability to release love, open your heart and align yourself to spiritual development...always look for old wood or cut wood left by farmers to use.......This benevolent old chap is always willing to yield old wood, and Below his roots a badger as made it's sett......
This beasty lives in the valley on the north flank of bodran, i think its an Ash i'll pay it a visit now that there are leaves to confirm it........The ash was considered by the druids to be one of their 5 sacred trees , it connects with the 3 circles of existence and being known to the celts as "Abred" "Gwynedd"and "Ceugant", which translated is past, present and future....
Not a tree today but this amazing log it is pretty big and as hard as iron, which makes me think its oak..it's the core wood as all the bark has rotted away..I want it in my garden but it's a tad to big to pop in my pocket..and as with most of the trees they've earned pet names from my children this is the Rhino...........
This silver birch makes a great seat, and the children called it their dinosaur and used to squeeze on together to ride it.
